Teixeira has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the last few weeks with scouts impressed with his progress.

Chelsea are close to sealing a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the coming days and could have the goal-machine available for FA Cup duty this weekend.

He arrives in the form of his life having bagged 26 goals in 25 games this term for a fee approaching £30million.

He’s set to be Chelsea’s first January signing but is unlikely to be their last, with Everton’s John Stones among those also linked.
