Where’s my Tottenham gone? You score one, we’ll score two. That’s what we always said wasn’t it? Change that to you score one, we’ll lose. How times have changed. The entertainers have forgotten how to entertain. We’ve failed to score in three of our last four games. We had one shot on target against Liverpool. We hit the bar in the 1st minute in Belgrade and that was it as far as chances went. Our 1st shot on target against WBA was in the 70th minute. Again that was it. What the hell is going on? Let’s look at these games in more detail.

Liverpool were quick out the blocks, dominated early on, scored after only 8 minutes and could have had more. We couldn’t cope with their movement. A soft penalty early in the 2nd half and the game was over. Just what was Dier thinking? The 3rd goal summed us up. Townsend, on as sub, lost the ball to Moreno on the halfway line. The full back ran unchallenged into the box and hit a beauty into the far corner. The question is where was our right back? And even more worrying, why did Kaboul not close the space down? Shocking defending. And Kaboul has been made captain! Great leadership. Since his injury two years ago he’s become a shadow of the player he was.

The game in Belgrade was Spurs at their infuriating best. The pitch was poor but that’s no excuse. Their keeper hardly made a save. We created zip. Three players in particular stood out for me. Harry Kane looked like a championship player at best. One paced. One trick pony. Always tries to come inside the defender with his 1st touch. How many times did the move break down with him. Ben Davies, £10m worth of talent. Really? Couldn’t defend for toffee. Miskicked the ball a number of times. A bag of nerves. And finally to speedy gonzales himself, Aaron Lennon. He really doesn’t like playing in the Europa League. I can’t remember the last time he played a blinder for us. He couldn’t be bothered. Never tried taking on the defender. Always looked for the easy option. What a waste of talent. We couldn’t string two passes together. That’s two hours of my life I won’t get back.

The WBA game was even worse. They were bottom of the league. Not won a game. They were far superior in every dept. They pressed us high up the pitch. Wasn’t that the game plan Poch was bringing to the Lane? We couldn’t get out of 1st gear. The goal was always coming but a free header from inside the six yard box from a corner? Hackney marshes defending. We lacked energy. No passion. No leadership. No ideas. The enigma that is Eriksen could only hit the 1st man from corners and free kicks. He slapped himself in frustration. How difficult is it to get the ball up in the air?

To say I’m annoyed is putting it mildly. Like all other Spurs supporters we expect a helluva lot more. When you see a normally mild mannered manager screaming on the touchline in frustration, you know there’s something wrong. The blame game goes on. Kaboul comes out and says some players aren’t putting in a shift during training. Unbelievable! Captain Kaboul you have a lot to answer for so start off by naming and shaming them. They don’t deserve to wear the famous shirt. Sherwood said the same last year. It seems nothings changed. God help us against the Woolwich this weekend.
