The 2-0 win at Southampton and Saturday's victory over Norwich has left Tottenham fans and pundits alike asking just where Spurs' ambitions should stop. Are they ready for a top four surge or could the unthinkable dream of a title tilt now be a reality?

While Leicester City's stunning achievements so far this season have understandably grabbed the headlines, Watford's excellent start to the campaign puts them second in the 'surprise team of the season' table.

Their current five-match unbeaten run has taken them to within 11 points of the 40-point barrier, the holy grail for any promoted side. For the Hornets' more optimistic fans, though, it's also put them three points off the Champions League places in which opponents Spurs currently reside.

If Spurs are to send a message to the rest of the Premier League regarding top four ambitions then victory over Watford, albeit tricky, is a must. The busy Christmas period could now provide the defining moments of Tottenham's season.
