Substitute Mirco Antenucci fired Leeds ahead with eight minutes remaining only for Burnley substitute Sam Vokes to head an equaliser four minutes remaining.

Leeds gave debuts to three players with Tom Adeyemi, Chris Wood and recent signing Stuart Dallas starting.

Burnley had the opening chance of the game when Lukas Jutkiewicz speculative effort went just over with the striker appealing for a penalty.

Leeds had a great opportunity to open the scoring when Dallas saw his effort superbly saved by Tom Heaton who flicked his shot onto the crossbar.

Dallas tested Heaton again soon afterwards as he found space at the back post.

Giuseppe Bellusci fired a long-range effort straight at Heaton as Leeds enjoyed the better of the opening half of the first half.

Burnley grew into the game, Michael Kightly saw his effort go just wide, and minutes later Jelle Vossen saw his effort hit Marco Silvestri in the Leeds goal and drift just wide.

Silvestri was also forced into a good save from Jutkiewicz and Leeds had the last chance of the half when Sol Bamba couldn`t get proper contact on an header at the far post after a well-worked corner.

Leeds started the second half brightly and Alex Mowatt had the first chance of the second half when he found space but he fired just wide of the target. Tom Adeyemi then saw his effort go over as they searched for an opener.

Jutkiewicz was a constant threat for Burnley and he forced Silvestri into another good save low down.

Wood then had a good chance for Leeds but he couldn`t keep his effort down from the edge of the area.

The deadlock was broken on 82 minutes when Antenucci cut in from the right before curling a shot past the full-stretched Heaton.

Burnley were level four minutes later when Vokes directed his header past Silvestri after a good ball into the middle by Darikwa.

Antenucci had a chance to win it for Leeds in injury time but Heaton saved his effort from the left.

A good start to the season, with Leeds looking a much more organised side this season under Uwe Rosler.
