Chelsea Latest - Cech done, Salah out and Pogba Interest

Petr Cech has finally completed his much anticipated transfer to Chelsea’s closest London rivals, Arsenal. The transfer was sealed for 10.9 million pounds. As of now there is no information as to how many years will Cech spend at the Emirates, but he will earn an estimated 100,000 pounds a week, making him Arsenal’s highest paid goalkeeper ever.

Since arriving from Rennes (a Ligue 1 club), in the 2004-05 season, Cech made at least 20 appearances in the Premier League each season, but after Thibaut Courtois’ recall from La Liga side Atletico Madrid last season, Cech made only seven appearances in the Premier League, leaving him with no option but to search for another club for more game time.

Petr Cech made a total of 485 appearances for the club. 332 of them came in the Premier League, of which 162 were clean sheets, which means Petr Cech kept a clean sheet every second game! Cech’s proudest moment would definitely be winning the Champions League for Chelsea in the 2011-12 season by keeping out Ivica Olic’s and Bastian Schweinsteiger’s penalties in the shootout.

As a replacement for Petr Cech, Chelsea first turned to QPR’s Robert Green. Those rumours seemed to have died down now and Asmir Begovic is being targeted, with Victor Moses looking to make his loan move permanent at the Britannia in the bargain.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Salah’s representatives will meet Fiorentina in Florence, Italy tonight, to take a final decision on Salah’s club for the 2015-16 season. Fiorentina have the option to sign Salah for 700,000 pounds for another season on loan and then for 12.8 million pounds the following season to make his transfer permanent.

And Finally....

Chelsea have been in touch with Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba’s agent, in order to sign him. However, there are a couple of stumbling blocks. Juventus will want a 20% cut should a future transfer take place and should the transfer happen, Pogba will become Chelsea’s highest paid player in their current squad.
