Good vibes currently blooming at Nottingham Forest

We have a new season, a new manager, and players but crucially we also have a new positive vibe emanating from the corridors of The City Ground. Admittedly we are at a very early stage of the new era however with the exception of the fall out over the transfers of Lascelles and Darlow all news recently about the club has been positive. We are top of the league; we have the joint top scorer in the league and in my opinion the most important news of this very positive week for the club we are apparently very close to appointing an experienced chief executive in ex Villa man Paul Faulkner who Pearce has personally recommended.

Before the season started I highlighted if we got off to a good start I believe we could be pulled along a crest of a wave throughout the season. If we continue this good start the fans will start to flock, and we will once again become an intimidating cauldron to play football in and momentum can be built to get us over the finish line. We are currently experiencing this positive wave and on early signs we may even have a 20 goal a season man in Assombolonga which we have haven’t had since the days of David Johnson!

Everything Pearce has done so far on and off the pitch so far has been successful. His acquisitions over the summer have all added quality; I have been especially impressed with the new right back Jack Hunt. Many including myself believed he took a gamble on Assombolonga but 3 goals in as many games league games are showing the doubters that we should trust Pearce and his staff’s eyes for good players and will breed confidence in Fawaz and his purse strings that further recommendations for players will be good ones. His interviews have been honest and informative, which are both attributes which further endear him to the fans. Perhaps he was a little naïve in the formation in the first half against Bournemouth but he realised his error, rectified it quickly and the only important statistic will show a win for Forest in this fixture.

Pearce has made some great recommendations for playing personnel, and the rumours are emanating he has also had great influence in the negotiations for a chief executive. This could prove to be his most important and influential signing yet. Fawaz has done a lot of great things for this club and may have built the foundation for our success. However there are grumblings he is too hands on. For example the signing of the Algerians and his demands they play. I think Fawaz means well, is a great fan of the club, but if he takes more of a back seat and lets a chief executive be responsible for the day to day running of the club, many of the embarrassments on signings and laughable PR he has created for the club can be avoided which have only brought morale down and created a negative vibe.

We do not know what the future holds, but if we live in the present the feeling is positive, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next game on Saturday against Reading to cheer on Pearce and his troops again hopefully to another win.

Come on you Reds!
