Leicester City still need a midfielder

With the signing of Leonardo Ulloa from Brighton for a reported £8 million and taking City’s signings to six this summer, I still believe City are in need of a central midfielder.

City have already bolstered their squad with the signings of Matthew Upson, Marc Albrighton, Jack Barmby, Kieran Kennedy and Louis Rowley of which two (Upson and Albrighton) you would say are definite first team players.

City currently have Danny Drinkwater, Matty James, Andy King and Dean Hammond as their central midfield options but I feel another quality central midfielder will give City more depth and cover in case of injuries.

The partnership between Drinkwater and James was key to City’s title success last year and although King and Hammond played their part, it was Drinkwater and James who did the business with consistent high level performances and Drinkwater becoming Leicester’s player of the season.

A midfielder who has a bit more creativity, an eye for goal and good accurate passing I feel is what Leicester need, who I don’t know, but there was talk earlier on in the summer about Nick Powell from Manchester United joining City on-loan or permanently. Although talk of this seems to have cooled down, I would see it as a great bit of business if City were to get him.

  2. Blanco seems a good player, how much do you reckon we could get him for?
