Another week passed, another list of players rumoured to be on Leicester City’s radar.

There are plenty of names being thrown around in connection with the foxes, from former England striker Peter Crouch to Leeds United hit man Ross McCormack. However, being linked to so many players does become rather tedious, as for the most part, it is all speculation and rumour with no solid evidence. So the end of the summer transfer window is something, I’m sure, many Leicester fans will be looking forward to, so that rumours can be laid to rest.

Two of the players that the blues have been reportedly monitoring are Tours front man Andy Delort and Caen centre back Molla Wague. Both men play in the French Ligue 2 and both had very good seasons.

Delort scored an impressive 24 goals in 36 games last term. He has pace, strength and a wicked right foot. This was demonstrated with his goal on the 8th minute against RC lens (follow the link below) http://youtu.be/gaAFi_hqFGM

At the young age of 22, the Frenchman has bags of potential. But this has been his first good season. The striker had played for three other clubs prior to signing with Tours, being fairly average before having his break out season. Signing an unproven player at a top level could certainly be a risk for Nigel Pearson, but it would be a low cost risk. However, Delort’s clinical finishing has attracted attention from other clubs as well, Stuttgart, Southampton and Borussia Monchengladbach to name a few, plus RC Lens themselves are interested in taking the man who scored 3 goals against them last season up to Ligue 1.

Molla Wague was a part of the Caen side that secured themselves a place in Ligue 1. The Mali international made 24 appearances in 36 games to help his side finish third. The centre back is a former French u19 player and now a senior Mali player, getting himself 6 caps so far. The 23 year old will be available on a free transfer over the summer as his contract with Caen is coming to an end. Pearson will be after a bit of youth and pace in his back line and Wague could be the answer. But the young defender isn’t just attracting interest from the foxes, a handful of English teams are rumoured to be after his services as well, including West Brom, Norwich and Crystal Palace.

Nigel Pearson has previously dipped his toes in the French market, picking up gems Anthony Knockaert and Riyad Mahrez from Guingamp and Le Havre respectively. Both have proven to be very popular signings at the King Power stadium, creating magical moments in front of the Leicester faithful and being a key part of the team that earned the blues promotion back to the big time.

So with Leicester City being linked to more starlets from France, I’m sure the fans will be excited to see if anything comes from the rumours. With Pearson’s track record of finding great players at bargain prices in Ligue 1 and 2, the French revolution at Leicester City may get even stronger.
