World Cup Celts

Well it's that time of the year again Bhoys, only one more game left until we all experience that horrible feeling of having no football to look forward to on a weekend.

Fortunately for us we all have the World Cup to look forward too, to take away some of that mid summer boredom. With Emilio Izaguirre and Efe Ambrose's place on the flight to Brazil already confirmed, with Honduras and Nigeria respectively, and the expected announcement of England's Fraser Forster to be confirmed when Roy Hodgson names his squad on Monday after the last round of games on both sides of the border, plus the high possibility of Tom Rogic being part of the Australian squad that faces Chile in Cuiabá on the 13th of June, and the slight chance that Virgil Van Dijk will get a deserved call up to the senior Dutch squad after representing them there in their under 19 and under 21 teams, there is plenty to look forward to when that last whistle of the domestic league season is blown on Sunday afternoon.

In addition to the members of the first team squad who may or may not be represented at the World Cup, we also have the added bonus of two former Celts to watch strutting their stuff samba style in the shape of Georgios Samaras and Ki Sung-Yueng, and with the main man himself, Neil Francis Lennon and his ex teammate John Hartson providing commentary at the football fiesta those usually boring football free summers will be a joy instead of a pain. Here's hoping Lennon can manage to identify a hidden gem or three to help bolster the squad before pre-season starts at the end of June.

But, before all that, we have a party to look forward to, a Championship party, as we celebrate 3-in-a row, a truly remarkable achievement in anyone's books, to gain 96 points, so far, with a possible 99 attainable, together with 99 goals scored and a goal difference of +75. It's times like these that we must relish and appreciate, and that's exactly why I'm proud to be a Bhoy.

Now and always, Keep The Faith, Hail Hail!
