Five most anticipated new Premier League players?

Article by e-Football Deputy Editor Antony Moule (UK)

With the transfer window to officially open in less than a week, we look at the five most anticipated and exciting potential new players to the the English Premier League.

In regards to potential signings; there are of course rumours of certain players coming to the EPL, such as Cristiano Ronaldo going back to Manchester United, and Cavini to Chelsea, but we shall not include these in this list in due to a lack in convincing evidence or suggestion, this however may change in the future.

Here is our list:

5) Fernandinho - Manchester City

The 28 year old Brazil has completed his £35 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this month and the anticipation of this signing brings comes from the significant fee Man City have paid to acquire Fernandinho's services.

As a box to box midfielder who offers good options both attacking and defensive, City fans will be hoping he forms a great partnership with Yaya Toure.

4) Higuain - Arsenal

This is not a confirmed signing for Arsenal as I write, but the Real Madrid striker has been heavily linked with a £22 million move to the English capital. At only 25 years old, the Argentinian international is the attacking answer for current and future gunners teams.

He is a hugely clever footballer, with the ability to get his team-mates into goal scoring opportunities through clever passing and running, which really compliments Arsenal's current attacking players. He also is a born goal scorer, with an excellent goal scoring record. Arsenal fans should be hoping that this deal goes through.

3) Paulinho - Tottenham Hotspur

Currently away with Brazil in the confederation cup, the 24 year old has explained that he will decide whether to make the £17 million move to north London after he completes his international duty.

The versatile midfielder is similar to Fernandinho as a player. He is strong and tackles hard, but also has great attacking presence. He recently scored For Brazil against England at Wembley, and has several top performances for Brazil since under his belt. Spurs fans will be hoping that he joins to form a formidable midfield trio with fellow Brazilian Sandro and Belgium Dembele.

2) Thiago - Manchester United

Is Thiago staying at Barcelona or moving elsewhere? That is the question, and an answer is no where is sight, but Thiago makes our list because his father; Brazilian World Cup winner Mazinho, has dropped a huge hint by saying that his son should join Man United.

Red devil fans should hope that the young Spanish playmaker takes his Fathers advice on board as he is the perfect replacement for club legend Paul Scholes. He recently played a huge part in captaining the Spanish under 21 side to the European Championship, and looks to have world class potential. Would definitely fit into a transitioning Man U side.

1) Isco - Manchester City/Real Madrid

Finally, my number one (potential) Premier League newbie is the Young Spanish attacker. Each day gives a different destination for the the 21 year old; Man City one day, Real Madrid the next, but if City do complete this transfer, they will have signed one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

His speed and dribbling alone scares defenders, but his clever passing, eye for goal and ability to interplay with team mates really adds quality in depth to this player. He would definitely be an upgrade on Nasri at City, and would fit in well with fellow Spanish internationals Jesus Navas and David Silva.

here you have it, our top 5 potential new players to the EPL, let us know yours in the comments section, or on our Facebook and Twitter.
